CASE STUDIES
Texturglas® Glass Textile Wall Finish System:
Pompano Beach Middle School, Florida
The corridor walls of the school were soft gypsum drywall and old plaster. The drywall was kicked in and damaged by karate "wanna-be" kids. The old plaster walls continued to crack and fail.
The maintenance staff were continually patching, repairing and painting the walls during the year to maintain an acceptable appearance. It was a never ending problem.
All interior corridors had four feet of gypsum from the floor up replaced with a hardened gypsum, and then all wall surfaces were covered with the glass textile wall finish system and painted with a latex semi gloss to match the existing school colors. The installation of 1,350 yards was completed in 1996 by the school maintenance crew.
"You can't imagine the problems we were having before this installation. It is like night and day. We are very happy with the system and would like to see it in other areas of the school."
- Dr. Roundtree, Assistant Principal
